Healthy Resolution of Kantoran People: Standing and Walking 5 Minutes Every Hour
Jakarta, We often unknowingly spend time just to sit all day. Especially when it's in the office. Work that accumulate even be the reason. Though this is not healthy for the physically and mentally concerned.Tak no day, sitting more than 8-9 hours a day alone can increase the risk of plaque clots in the arteries of the foot. Not to mention the risk of diabetes and obesity, and depression. Then emerged various methods to overcome this problem. Among them with the use of standing tables or even treadmill desks. But these solutions are considered to be impractical and overpriced. This condition is addressed by joint researchers from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center and the Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute. They decided to try out some methods that office workers can use to improve their movements. The study involved 30 workers who were invited directly to the campus clinic to do some tests. For three days, participants took part in 3 experiments, a kind of simulation as they worked. First, the participants were only asked to sit for 6 hours. In the second experiment, they were only asked to walk for 30 minutes at the beginning of the experiment and then sit for 5.5 hours in the future. On the third day, participants were asked to walk for 5 minutes per hour, using a treadmill. Participants were also asked to complete a game on the computer that was designed to determine participants' ability to concentrate and make decisions. In each session, the researchers took blood samples of participants to determine the levels of stress hormones, mood levels, energy and their appetite.Read too: Busy and Lots of Work But Want Slim? Can you see, in the light of the tricks? Evidently, in every experiment where there is movement, the average participant feels more energetic throughout the day, although alternately every hour or just at the beginning of the experiment. Similarly, the New York Times reports. But when the two are compared again, those who walk 5 minutes per hour are more cheerful, less fatigued, and less likely to eat than when they do two other experiments. This study proves that with only a few activities day, this can improve a person's health, let alone this is practical, says Jack Groppel, a Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute researcher. He dismissed the notion that taking a pause while working on foot would only make a person exhausted or starve. This kind of pause is also proven not to reduce a person's ability to focus on his work, including productivity.Yuk, try.Read also: Do not Lazy, Yuk Move to Prevent Stress Effects in the Workplace (lll / vit)
